My very first work as an official makeup artist in Cape Town. The lovely place we now call home.
It’s been exactly a month since we arrived in the Mother City full of excitement for a new adventure. Pretending to be super brave while being a little raw from all the goodbyes. A little nervous of the unknown.
Packing up our Lowveld living lives was not an easy thing to do but we are slowly settling in. Cape Town is starting to feel a little more like home with each week that passes.
Daily we get to drink in beautiful new scenery. A stroll on the beach after work has become a regular thing. And this small town girl gets to shop to her hearts content at all the fabulous stores that are right around the corner from me now.
On that note I proudly share with you my very first work as a makeup artist in Cape Town.
We had 3 dress options so I had to create a look that would easily adapt. All 3 dresses had a lot of movement so I decided to contrast that with a solid black winged liner.
Keeping the focus on Amy’s eyes , I completed the look with a natural toned lip.
Something so simple yet a timeless statement.
For hair we wanted to create soft and textured movement to mimic that of the dress. Working with and not against the Cape Town winds.
Thank you to Kim Tracey (my little home slice) for including me in this collaboration.
It is always a treat to work with someone whose approach is not just to take a photo or capture a moment but to capture the emotion and tells her story with her art.
